Hey Friends!
This week was a good one! Elder Fisher and I taught about 2-3 lessons a day, which was way awesome and we have about 4 people committed to baptism! Even though it is all role play and totally fake, it is still really cool watching them progress and change themselves!! One of our investigators, John, had a problem with drinking and smoking marijuana, so after we committed him to stop doing all those things we "went around his house and dumped all of his beer out and destroyed all his weed!" haha, I think he was a little shocked at first but he was grateful for it in the end!
This Monday I am going to be leaving for the field at 5 a.m.! It seems like I just barely got here and now we are leaving! I definitely feel like I haven't learned enough to be teaching real people yet! It is kind of scary but I think I am more excited than scared!
Yesterday Elder Fisher (my companion) and I went to the dentist so I could get 2 cavities filled, and it was really exciting getting to see the outside world for once! HaHa! It was definitely really cool how, like, everybody was just so genuinely nice just because they saw the name tags. This one lady got off the elevator and looked at us and almost said "hey you look just like the missionaries" but then just sorta chuckled once she realized! This definitely got me really excited for the field! One guy even walked up to us and told us he a had a referral for us, but changed his mind once he realized we were still in the MTC, lol!!! Anyways, this is the last time I will be writing from the MTC, and will write again on my next p-day...whenever that is, I don't know yet! haha :)
Thanks to all for your support and prayers
Elder Layton
