This week has been great! To start off, on Saturday we had a baptism! Jade Rodriguez was baptized! She is a 13 year old girl that the Spanish missionaries tracted into. Her parents aren't interested yet, but we have been teaching her and her 3 brothers. Her three brothers are being baptized in October. It was a wonderful experience, and it really has been wonderful to see her make a big change in her life. She really has changed herself around a lot!
It seems that every week James and Martha just amaze us! We taught them about the word of wisdom, and after we taught them, they just dumped out their liquor and threw away all their tea (see pictures). It was completely their idea too! It has just been a miracle to teach them and see their great faith!
A few weeks ago, a lady named Jessica Andrews just came to church and brought her 3 children. She said she loved church and wanted to come back, but we haven't seen her since then. we decided to drop by and see her and see how she was doing, and it turns out that her husband has gone a little crazy and won't even let her leave the house. She keeps her Gospel Principles book, her Bible, Book of Mormon, and The Restoration pamphlet we gave her all hidden so he can't find it. When he is gone during the day she gets them out and reads them. Well, when we went to visit her last week we gave her a blessing, and we really are praying that things will work out for her. She said she felt really good after the blessing! We have decided we are going to keep stopping by (in the morning) and we will give her reading assignments and things to look up and read in between visits because we can't go into a single lady's home to teach her, and we can't visit her while her husband is there. She has such strong faith, things will work out for her, it really has been humbling to see her faith and trust that things will work out!
The week has been great, and we have really been enjoying the cooler weather!
