December 5, 2011

Hello to all,

This week was a great one! I think the highlight for me was getting to teach a lady named Pat Melphers and her daughter Lisa. We met Pat on September 20th and have been just dropping by for 10-15 minutes here and there. Pat has come to the Halloween trunk or treat as well as the Christmas party on Friday, and at the Christmas party we were finally able to set up a real teaching appointment. We went by the next night and taught them the restoration and it went really well. They have had led a pretty tough life the past 20 years and have had a lot of hurt built up and just need some relief. It is amazing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has that power.

We had some very humbling experiences this week that made us really appreciate the knowledge we have of the restoration of the gospel. We had a few of our investigators that we had to stop meeting with, which is always a sad experience, but somewhat of a relief. It gives us a chance to leave people with a good outlook on the church and a good experience with the missionaries, so that they can continue to be prepared to accept the gospel in the future. It is a great blessing to be a member of this church and to be enlisted in this work.
