These past two weeks have been great! General conference was amazing! My favorite talk was definitely the one by Elder Tad R Callister about the Book of Mormon. I love the analogy of the dot, with lines through it. You can draw an infinite amount of lines through one point. just like that, you can draw an infinite amount of conclusions and interpret the bible tons of different ways, but with a second line, or the Book of Mormon, you can only draw one line through two dots, and just like that, there is only one doctrine that can be taught through the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Tad R Callister is amazing!
So the reason I wasn't able to email last week was because President Durrant had us in meetings all day long. He was teaching us how to be trainers. That is right, I was asked to be a trainer! I am so excited to have the opportunity to be training a new missionary! My new companion is Elder McLain from "sort of" Washington. He moved around a lot and never really settled down anywhere. He moved to Washington two years ago. He is really a great missionary and is a great example to me! He is really excited for the work, and reminds me of how I was when I was a new missionary! It is great to see his desire and dedication. The week has been great and we have seen great things!
One miracle we saw was when we were about to head out and do some tracting for the night: Elder Mclain picked a street to tract and we went there and started knocking. After tracting for a while, and after it was time to go home, we started walking back. As we were walking back, there was a lady standing out front of a house. We had knocked that house, and a man had answered and wasn't really interested. Well Elder Mclain contacted her, and it turns out that she was from Peru. She has family in Peru that are members. She lived near the temple in Lima. The miracle was that last week, when Elder Mclain came into the mission, another missionary came into the mission from Lima Peru. And out of all the areas in the mission, he got called to serve in THIS same area (for the Spanish ward). He was so excited to hear about that. Anyways, the whole week has been great! All is well here, and the weather has been cooling off. It has been very enjoyable!
