Mom,
Sorry, I know you aren't expecting this today but I did end
up getting transferred, and for the time being, my preparation day is going to
be on Saturdays. I got transferred back
into my first zone again, Richardson. I
know you probably will be getting a letter soon, and you probably would rather
hear it from me, so I think I should probably tell you that President Durrant
asked me to be his assistant. I am not
sure how I feel about it yet, there are some definite plusses and minuses to
it. I am really excited to be on the
other end of the transfers and to get to help President make the decisions of
who gets transferred and where they are going.
I also am excited to get to spend some time with President Durrant going
around to the different zones and giving trainings. The unfortunate thing is that I don't get to
spend as much time in my own proselyting area, but I do get to help other
missionaries in their own area a lot. My
companion is Elder Seager. He was my
zone leader when I first got into the mission. He is a great missionary and a
very hard worker. I am excited to be his
companion. It is a great opportunity to
stretch myself and grow a lot more. It
is pretty safe to say that I will be here until about November. I have my new apartment address, but not the
apartment number, so I will just give that to you next week!Thank you so much for the package! I am really grateful for your testimony; I appreciate you sharing that with me. I love you mom, and am very grateful to you for all you have done for me and continue to do for me.
Sorry if preparation day on Saturday kind of messes things up for you, I know it kind of throws a wrench in things.
Love, Elder Riley Layton
p.s. Sorry if I don't
write a generalized letter, we are getting ready to make transfer calls, and
are really busy!
