Howdy Y'all,

So from now on my preparation day is on Saturdays.  I got transferred and, since I am an office elder, Saturdays are my preparation days.  Let’s just say, this week has been way busy.  Monday we got to meet all the new missionaries and take them around a little bit.  What a great group of missionaries.  Each one of them is just excited to be here and you can see that their hearts are in the right place.  Tuesday, after transfers all happened, we got to spend a good amount of time with the departing missionaries.  It was really cool between Monday and Tuesday to see the difference between the new missionaries and the departing missionaries.  You can tell that they have grown up a lot, and have learned a lot about life.  They seemed kind of lost and confused at what was going to happen next.

Wednesday we spent time finalizing in the computer system all the transfers that had occurred and making sure everything could run smooth for the next six weeks. I never realized how much happens behind the scenes at transfers.

Wednesday night we were able to teach Jennifer Ramirez. That was great!  She is a friend of Rebecca in the singles ward.  She has come to church a few times, but this was her first lesson.  The spirit was very strong and she already is in the process of gaining her testimony.  Probably one of the coolest things that happened was that she, before our lesson, looked up on the internet what some other churches had to say about the book of Mormon.  She said "I know none of it is true though, it was just all so negative and I could just tell they were all lies" AWESOME! I love it when investigators can discern for themselves what is true and what is not.

Everything this week went smoothly and we are just gearing up for some zone conferences next week. It will probably keep us pretty busy!

Hope Y'all have a great week!
Love,

Elder Riley Layton
